LAS VEGAS - Nevada authorities seized records Tuesday from a group they accused of submitting fraudulent voter-registration forms — including for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys.

"Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4," said Secretary of State Ross Miller, referring to star players on the pro football team.

State authorities raided the headquarters of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a group that works to register low-income people.

Miller said the raid was part of a monthslong investigation, and he contended the group had submitted registration forms that used false information or duplicated information on multiple forms. He did not estimate how many.

Bertha Lewis, interim chief organizer for ACORN, said the group has been working with election officials to weed out fraudulent forms from those submitted by the canvassers it hires.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Officials in Missouri, a hard-fought jewel in the presidential race, are sifting through possibly hundreds of questionable or duplicate voter-registration forms submitted by an advocacy group that has been accused of election fraud in other states.

Charlene Davis, co-director of the election board in Jackson County, where Kansas City is, said the fraudulent registration forms came from the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. She said they were bogging down work Wednesday, the final day Missourians could register to vote.

"I don't even know the entire scope of it because registrations are coming in so heavy," Davis said. "We have identified about 100 duplicates, and probably 280 addresses that don't exist, people who have driver's license numbers that won't verify or Social Security numbers that won't verify. Some have no address at all."

Wow. So defensive. I never said anything about McCain being ahead, but my question is, if Obama is really so far ahead, why these tactics by his supporters?

The polls are a bunch of crap. I predict that it's going to be much closer than the polls say, but I truly believe that Obama will win. I just think that Obama's supporters obviously think so too. (See the Bradley effect)

I in no way am saying Obama himself is trying to steal this election, but ACORN is a group that Obama trained in their tactics and I have yet to see him truley denounce this type of actions by anyone he is connected to, unless it becomes a real threat to his personal advancement. Voter fraud is voter fraud, yet no comment by the Obama campaign.

No need to proceed in the same fashion day in and day out. I really don't believe that there are any undecided voters at this point in the race no matter how much scandal McCain's team tries to throw at us.

That's ignorance. The Bradley effect, no matter what the unbiased Democratic underground would like to claim, only gives a five or six point difference. I never said it would make up the difference. I said it's closer than the polls show.

You discount it because there aren't any convictions? First off, I hope you mean no convictions in these new investigations, because there have been many convictions of voter fraud by ACORN employees over the past decades. Secondly, these investigations just started as a result of local election officials are reporting finding a high number of bad/fake forms from ACORN voter drives, and there will have to be an investigation, charges filed, court hearings and possibly a trial. You couldn't even be convicted of a traffic offense this fast.

Thats funny. You know I never heard of Troopergate before Palin was announced as the VP pick. It was just another politiction getting investigated in a home town comunity. Naming this Troopergate was a political PLOY too! So your right.
