My wife brought home some new holiday cookie cutters the other day. I guess that's her hint to me that I need to get on the ball and do some cookie cooking.

I have a recipe for Gum-Drop cookies somewhere that I got from my aunt Nancy that are totally the bomb and I'll post it if I can find it, but until then I'll start off this thread with an oatmeal cookie recipe.

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tespoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Stir in the oats, raisins, & chocolate chips. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes until light and golden.

Now before I ever get accused of plagerizing, this is NOT my recipe, but I have used it many times. Credit goes to: Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies - Allrecipes I slightly modified her version.

Everybody loves them !!

I'm gonna kick off the holiday season by making a batch this weekend.

Those sound pretty good!

We have some pretty traditional treats that we make every Christmas, and it's fun to look forward to something that you only eat once a year. It makes the holidays much more special that way.

This year my mom is going to have my 3 year old nephew help her decorate her Christmas sugar cookies. I think we're going to end up with some very interesting looking cookies. :)

Cheap ass Walmart brand cookies...

First, get in your car and head over to the nearest Walmart.

Next, get your ass out and walking into the store.

Then nod at the greeter, and remember to look down because you might collide with a Salvation Army wheel chair bound bellringer.

Head down the cookie aisle, pick up a bag of cardboard colored sprinkled sh!t constrainers, and head up to the cash register.

Pay the checkout girl.

Go home. Gorge. And/or give them to your fat cat.

The End.

I fukken hate Christmas.

It's a mistake to think that poor people get the benefit from the welfare system. It's a total fraud. Most welfare go to the rich of this country: the military-industrial complex, the bankers, the foreign dictators, it's totally out of control. This idea that the government has services or goods that they can pass on is a complete farce. Governments have nothing. They can't create anything, they never have. All they can do is steal from one group and give it to another at the destruction of the principles of freedom, and we ought to challenge that concept. - Ron Paul
