snafu Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Fry baby fry! It sounds like it won't get passed but at least Alaska is debating reinstating the death penalty. As a state we have never had it only as a teritory. Most of our lifer's are sent to Arizona where it costs our state more than most. Also the notion that innocent people will be put to death is absurd. I think the reason of doubt is substantially taken away with forensic science and DNA that we have today. I think if we cannot come up with definitive prove we shouldn't use the death plenty. Frank Turney of Fairbanks voiced support for the measure, saying costs could be cut with a guillotine or a firing squad "fast and swift." I like the way this guy thinks!! Chi Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Not only should the death penalty be reinstated or added to every state , but be done more often. As cruel and horrible as that sounds. 1 Quote
Moderators IWS Posted February 24, 2009 Moderators Posted February 24, 2009 We have the death penalty, but don't currently have a means of execution that isn't considered to be cruel and unusual. We only have the electric chair and they are debating on having lethal injection as another method or using some other means. Chi Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 That is definitely not the approach I would have expected from you on this issue. Why? Some people will never reform. Why continue wasting our time and money on them, when it could go to better use and not in vain. Quote

Ali Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I'd like to see North Dakota reinstate the death penalty. It would be cost effective, too. No need for fancy chairs or deadly drug ****tails....just take them out back to the field and let old man Johnson run 'em over with his John Deere. Quote

I'm sure a lot of those that are guilty will attempt to take us down the minute they have a chance, so... And I'm sure they would do the same thing to us, if they had us detained. Better yet, they would torture us for a long while first. Quote

RaE Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 This thread give me hope. It makes me think that Chi is starting to see the light and starting to dislike obama. Also, i NEVER would have pegged chi as a death penalty proponent... wow. Quote "Firearms stand next in importance to the constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence. From the hour the Pilgrims landed, to the present day, events, occurrences, and tendencies prove that to ensure peace, security, and happiness, the rifle and pistol are equally indispensable. The very atmosphere of firearms everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that's good." - George Washington
