snafu Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 Where is the opposition? I've always called Phreakwars the devils advocate because in the past I didn't believe he believed in what he typed. The very day I joined WPYO he inspired me to present my opinion. He has a level head and is an informed man. As Phreakwars he kept **** going. I miss Phreakwars. So where is he? Without rants can we get opposition to the board instead of back patting? Do we want that or are we content with the back slapping? Quote *NEVER FORGOTTEN*
snafu Posted September 26, 2009 Author Posted September 26, 2009 I think we need to get some kind of opposition here but I have no clue as to how we do it. I think we scare the opposition away without a clan to follow them. They need a force to reckon with us. As a suggestion maybe we should scout out a liberal board to correlate with us. This democracy. Quote *NEVER FORGOTTEN*
Members RoyalOrleans Posted September 26, 2009 Members Posted September 26, 2009 The site is stale these days. There seems to be about eight to ten regulars. Over half of them agree with me, the rest don't want to get involved in a debate. I guess I could play devil's advocate on some issues, but I can't pretend to side against anything that I have said before. It's a total fraud. Most welfare go to the rich of this country: the military-industrial complex, the bankers, the foreign dictators, it's totally out of control. This idea that the government has services or goods that they can pass on is a complete farce. Governments have nothing. They can't create anything, they never have. Ali Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I guess we could have another Sarah Palin post. Hahaha! I'm sure there are things we disagree on. Someone just needs to find the right hot topic, I guess. But like RO said...it's hard to pretend to take another stance on a topic when people are already familiar with where you have stood on it before. And I'm sure the abortion, religion and political topics have been done to death so....I dunno. Quote

Ali Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 I am sure that position is homosexuals should not be allowed to be married and if you disagree you are an irresponsible socialist fag, Well bring on the debate! It's high time some of you fellows got slapped with the "irresponsible" label. My vagina grows weary of the stigma. Jeez...I can't even remember what topics have been discussed and what haven't. Here are a few I was mulling over: Spanking children - child abuse or not? Divorce - why has it become such an acceptable practice, and even the norm, in our society? Open marriages - morally unacceptable or an ingenious concept? Respect - should it be given freely or is it something that is earned? Anyway, those are just some thoughts I had. Poor RO - I'll oppose you in a debate if you'd like. I don't know that I can best you, but I could probably hold my own for awhile. Pick a topic! :D Quote

Here are a few I was mulling over:Spanking children - child abuse or not? Depends on how hard you hit them and with what. Divorce - why has it become such an acceptable practice, and even the norm, in our society? Because all women are crazy and men figured out that if you thought you bought a good one when you got married, you just didn't spend enough time together. Open marriages - morally unacceptable or an ingenious concept? Fine if the man can do it, but not the woman. Respect - should it be given freely or is it something that is earned? Respect is something that a person needs to command or earn, but respect for a position/institution, judge, president, clergy, teacher, etc... should be automatic. Well, that was easy. Now what should we talk about.
