No funeral blues for Aniak fire chief

I was just reading the paper this morning and thought I'd share this story about a true hero and unselfish kind of guy.

Brown recently learned he didn't have long to live, he wasn't about to have everyone wait around for the funeral celebration. At the fire chief's request, longtime friends organized a kind of goodbye bash at the high school Saturday night that was expected to draw as many as 500 people. This in a village where the official population is 494, according to the state.

I would like to go out with a bash too.

*NEVER FORGOTTEN*

That's a great story, Snaf.

He must be one hell of a guy, and hero.

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.? ~ Thomas Sowell

I'd be the same. Spend more money on my wake so everyone who is still living can enjoy themselves. I don't need a fancy service or a mahogony, silk lined coffin. I'm dead! What do I care?

Though to be honest I do want to be cremated and have my ashes spread in the Pacific ocean. Say a few kind things about me and call it a day. I'd be content with that.

Yep. Cremated and as far as I'm concerned you can flush the ashes if you want.

I'm a donor so hopefully something good will come of my demise. Perhaps they can transplant some of my massive amounts of flesh onto Merc when I go. ;)

But yeah, I never wanted or would want a ritzy wedding and I have no desire for a fancy shmancy funeral service. I'm a simple girl through and through.

And I'd be honored to flush you down the sh!tter, IWS! hahaha!

It's a mistake to think that poor people get the benefit from the welfare system. It's a total fraud. Most welfare go to the rich of this country: the military-industrial complex, the bankers, the foreign dictators, it's totally out of control. This idea that the government has services or goods that they can pass on is a complete farce. Governments have nothing. They can't create anything, they never have. All they can do is steal from one group and give it to another at the destruction of the principles of freedom, and we ought to challenge that concept. - Ron Paul
