Members RoyalOrleans Posted March 13, 2010 Members Posted March 13, 2010 Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons. - Ron Paul Quote http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_5I0M6PKr5HM/SrZiXevwa5I/AAAAAAAAAIo/HZMRBP1nwyI/s200/obama-socialism-attacks-capitalism.jpg It's a mistake to think that poor people get the benefit from the welfare system. It's a total fraud. Most welfare go to the rich of this country: the military-industrial complex, the bankers, the foreign dictators, it's totally out of control. This idea that the government has services or goods that they can pass on is a complete farce. Governments have nothing. They can't create anything, they never have. All they can do is steal from one group and give it to another at the destruction of the principles of freedom, and we ought to challenge that concept. - Ron Paul
Times Posted March 13, 2010 Posted March 13, 2010 "Why do children want to grow up? Because they experience their lives as constrained by immaturity and perceive adulthood as a condition of greater freedom and opportunity. But what is there today, in America, that very poor and very rich adolescents want to do but cannot do? Not much: they can "do" drugs, "have" sex, "make" babies, and "get" money (from their parents, crime, or the State). For such adolescents, adulthood becomes synonymous with responsibility rather than liberty. Is it any surprise that they remain adolescents?" ~Thomas Szasz Quote Most if not all stereotypes hold some truth. ?The politicians don't just want your money. They want your soul. They want you to be worn down by taxes until you are dependent and helpless. When you subsidize poverty and failure, you get more of both.? ~ James Dale Davidson

wez Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 He who joyfully marches to music rank and file, has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would surely suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action. It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder. ~ Albert Einstein Quote I'm sick in mind and spirit, the mirror tells me lies ~ Ozzy

Cpvr Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Every blank page is an invitation to build a world no one has seen before. Your imagination doesn’t run out—it just waits for you to catch up. Sometimes, the cracks in your foundation are where the light finally gets in. You don’t have to move mountains to grow; sometimes shifting a pebble is enough. True love isn’t found—it’s built, layer by layer, like a home you never stop crafting. A heart that listens is louder than a thousand voices trying to be heard. Life is a mosaic of tiny decisions—each one a stroke in your masterpiece. The moments between the big milestones are where your true story lives. The road less traveled isn’t lonely; it’s where dreamers meet. Every detour adds a new chapter to your map. 1 Quote
