It's not over in Texas and their 67 delegates. Texas has a two part process for it's primary. A vote and then a caucus to decide the delegates.

AUSTIN, Texas - Fewer than half of Texas' voting sites had reported the results by Thursday from Democratic caucuses Tuesday night that were so chaotic and overcrowded by record turnout that police were called to some polling places.

 

So there's no winner yet for the caucuses, the second stage of the state's Democratic primary, which allocates 67 delegates to the national convention this summer.

 

As of Thursday afternoon, Sen. Barack Obama was ahead with 56 percent to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's 44 percent based on reports to state party headquarters by 41 percent of the precinct caucuses. Clinton beat Obama in the first step of Texas' contest, a standard state-run primary. Her 51 percent of the vote, compared to his 47 percent, earned her 65 delegates to his 61 delegates.

 

One reason for the slow caucus count is that phoning in the results to state party officials is voluntary.

This just fuels my prediction that the Dem candidacy will go straight up to the convention.

 

This crap about Hillary wanting the Michigan delegates and Florida delegates is obvious, desperate politics, and Howard Dean wanting them to have another election, is crap. The people of Florida proved they were a bunch of idiots in 2000, when they admitted many actually hit the wrong button, and meant to vote for Gore, and accidentally voted for Nader, didn't know how to count, "hanging chads" and what not. These idiots are obviously in the remedial group and should be discounted.

 

The DNC said they wouldn't count because they violated their rules, that should be that. It's their rules. The state party knew it when they agreed to the date of the election. Is this a Presidential election or a backyard ball game with, "do overs" or a golf game, and they get "a mulligan".

 

Talk about a Mickey Mouse Party, (get it, Florida, Disney World, Mickey Mouse, ok, it wasn't that funny, but it's true.).

Those Texas caucuses were a complete cluster-fuk from what it looked like on CNN. There'll be several lawsuits coming out of it. Everything from Texas Dems weren't ready for the turnout and turned people away to people from both camps stealing results. Idiots.

 

Obama has the benefit in a caucus situation. How many PC dems want to be seen not voting for a black candidate? Secret ballot and no body knows. Caucus where everything is in the open and everybody knows. This is evidenced by the fact that Obama has won nearly all caucus states.

I am just giggling like a school girl over this. I love to see the Liberals going at it like dogs fighting over a bone. As more time goes by, the Clinton machine keeps digging into their bad of tricks and the only reason the DNC is trying to waffle on their rules is because of the Clinton pressure. The DNC should live by their rules, but in many cases, the Clinton's are above rules.

 

Don't give up on all Florida voters, us conservatives don't seem to be having the same problems voting that the Democrats kept having. Remember that in all the highly dense voting areas where the Democrats where claiming irregularities were all run by democrats, funny stuff.

 

Old salt, your so right about the caucuses man. While these liberals may feel a tad bit of pressure to help a Clinton, she is still whilt and their PC trends are giving them a big problem if they have to openly vote against a black.

WASHINGTON - A consensus began to emerge Sunday that the best way to give Florida's Democrats a voice in electing a candidate for president lies with

 

The Democratic National Committee stripped Florida and Michigan of all their convention delegates — a total of 313 — for holding their primaries too early, making both contests meaningless. New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton won both states, but no delegates. Her rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, did not appear on Michigan's ballot.

 

But the disqualification of Florida and Michigan has created a headache for the Democratic party due to the unexpected closeness of the race between Obama and Clinton. Officials from both states are trying to figure out how best to resolve the issue before the national convention in August.

 

DNC Chairman Howard Dean said a mail-in primary is "actually a very good process."

 

"Every voter gets a ballot in the mail," the former Vermont governor said on CBS's "Face the Nation." "It's comprehensive, you get to vote if you're in Iraq or in a nursing home. It's not a bad way to do this."
